    Very good

The hotel food was very good. Scenery was stunning.

Unfortunately, about 10 days before our arrival their had been very strong winds, which had blown off part of some of the chalets roof and consequently our bathroom smelt rather due to the rain having got into the roof space. We did feel that it would have been nice to have been informed of this before we arrived. We realise that the weather is beyond the hotels control.

    Superb

I have stayed at Loch Melfort Hotel several times in the past when passing through this area choosing this hotel primarily because of its beautiful location. I also enjoy the peace afforded by the rooms in the extension where you can come and go without entering the main building. As a bonus the room rates are quite reasonable too. Unfortunately I have not yet had the opportunity to spend more time here but will rectify this sometime.

    Very good

Liked the lounge & bar area, nice relaxing weekend.Room had comfortable bed & fantastic views from balcony.

Rooms need a little updating on the decor etc.

    Very good

Outstanding view of the bay and distant islands from our room. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food, well prepared and served, whether it be the bistro or the gourmet menu. Comfortable lounge area and a generously sized dining area, both with sea views.

Our stay was marred by a partial failure of the heating system, resulting in cool rooms and a restricted supply of hot water. The dining room in particular was unpleasantly cold. Our bedroom was in the original 19th century house where the original heating system has been retained - cast iron radiators without therrmostatic control. This resulted in large swings in room temperature unless the radiator valve was constantly adjusted by hand. Attached to the bedroom was a large and generously equipped modern bathroom heated only by a small towel rail which in any case appeared to be turned off. However for anyone not in pursuit of luxury the hotel does still have its attractions. The annex is much more recent and may not suffer from any of the above.

Very friendly and helpful staff, delicious food, breathtaking views and the most relaxing atmosphere. This is my third stay at this hotel and it has never failed to impress me.

    Very good

Location & views from hotel were super. Food was excellent but expensive by uk standards.

Hotel trading on location to warrant the high cost.Room construction was wooden & so cold. No shaver point in room & staff oblivious - took 2 attempts to rectify. Very poor water flow in shower. 2% credit card charge & no american express. Too expensive.

    Superb

the first thing is the location arguably the finest in the west coast of scotland , the staff were very good and friendly and there was a no hastle atmosphere which made our stay very relaxing

my only complaint was when i ordered oysters in the bistro they were far to small and overpriced for there size

    Superb

Unique location and an ambiance to the hotel that matches the region both in terms of its landscape and traditions in food.

Original building is unique and very well postioned next to the bay. It wonderful to see the wild life and the Highland cattle walking the fields in front of the window. Main building is a problem for wifi use and no wifi in the rooms. Rooms are well appointed in-side, but external appearance is less appealling, They could use more and smart lighting systems around rooms and parking areas for safety.

    Superb

The view of the Loch was amazing & totally absorbing as it was changing all the time. Well designed so we could enjoy it from our room, the restaurant & the Lounge. Recommend the hotel just for the view.

    Very good

Very polite and friendly staff. Fantastic views. Very relaxing and peaceful atmosphere Food and drink was a bit expensive but good.

Annexe part of the hotel needs attention, musty smell in room when we arrived and a bit tired and shabby looking although the view you got of the loch was excellent. Cleaning service was not the best and duvet cover was to small for the size of the bed and better pillows would assure guests got a better nights sleep. Sound proofing between bedrooms not very good re; dont want to hear what others are getting up to in their bedrooms especially when your trying to get to sleep.

    Exceptional

Service and food were first class. Situation and views were stunning. Made to feel very welcome. Dining areas were lovely, all with sea views and the opportunity to sit out in the sunshine while having pre-dinner drinks was great. Also a lovely base from which to explore this part of the west coast of Scotland.
